Weather in Japan
Japan is situated in the temperate zone of the northern hemisphere and its climate resembles that of Central America or the south of Europe. The country is so vast that climates differ greatly from region to region. Most of the Japanese islands are located in the temperate seasonal wind zone with four distinctive seasons: spring, summer, autumn, winter. Winter temperatures range from -9 degrees to +16 degrees, whereas in summer they reach from 20 degrees to 28 degrees. Rainy season begins mid-June through to July. Typhoons, strong winds and rain often occur in September, followed by clear skies and bright sunshine during the autumn months. CLOTHING: Japanese have conservative tastes in clothing: your clothing should consist of light-weight, easy-washable cotton or linen. A raincoat may come in useful all year round pullovers and an overcoat are recommended for the winters.
