Weather in Maldives
The climate, which is determined by two monsoons is warm humid. The rainy south-west monsoon begins in May and continues until October, while generally fine north-east monsoon prevails from November to March. The average annual rainfall is 1967mm and the mean daily maximum temperature is 30 degrees while the daily minimum temperature is 26 degrees. From November to the end of April, days may be hot and dry with occasional showers and calm seas. From May to October, the Maldives experience longer periods of rain and rougher seas.
CLOTHING: informal and casual lightweight. When visiting the capital island, dress modestly as the Maldives are 100% Sunni Muslim. Skirts and shorts should cover the thighs and should not be diaphanous. Nudity is not permitted on the beaches.
