Weather in Libya
Libya's arid desert climate is moderated on the coast by the Mediterranean Sea. Average January temperatures vary from 11c degrees in the north to 17c degrees in the south; corresponding figures are 28c degrees and 38c degrees in July. Sabhah in the Fezzan region is the most arid place on earth. Precipitation varies between 400- 500mm in the northern hills to less than 100mm in most of the south falling during the winter. Frequent and violent dust storms are generated by the ghibli desert wind.
CLOTHING: lightweight with warmer clothes for winter days and desert nights. Formal attire for special occasions. Rainwear from December to February.
