Weather in Algeria
Climate and weather differ depending on the altitude. About one sixth of Algeria consists of Mediterranean coastal regions and because of this has a Mediterranean climate with winter rainfall. The rest of the country for example the more inland regions experience a continental climate, with hotter summers and colder winters. Nights have a tendency to be cold after quite a warm day. The Saharan desert area has a practically rainless climate. The rain that does fall is so little that it is not worth mentioning.
Clothing: tropical to light weight clothes are required for the summer months. In mountainous and Saharan regions warmer clothes are recommended at night. In winter you will need medium weight clothing with a raincoat and also a light overcoat.
